Bay Ridge St. Patrick Parade Education Fund supporting Catholic Education

The Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee was started in 1993 for the purpose of fostering, promoting and celebrating the cultural and historical contribution of Irish and Irish-American individuals within Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

The Committee is excited and pleased to announce that in our 22nd year we are introducing the Bay Ridge St. Patrick Parade Education Fund program to support Catholic Education. The education award program offers merit-based awards to recognize the personal and educational achievements, along with participation in community-related service activities of 8th grade students currently attending the five local Catholic Academies and elementary schools with plans to attend a Catholic High School in the Fall.

After promoting the Education Fund throughout this past parade season, we were able to garner matching funds. As a result of this, two students fitting the parade’s criteria and chosen by their respective school will receive the $1,000 grant. We would like to acknowledge the men and women who made such generous donations for the future of Catholic Education.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy of Brooklyn matching donations were made possible by Robert and Judy Rose in honor of their children Robert Rose ‘81 and Kelly Rose-Watters ‘84.

Holy Angels Catholic Academy matching donations were made possible by Marie Moloney in memory of her husband John J. Moloney II ‘35 and her son John J. Moloney III ‘65.

St. Ephrem School matching donations were made possible by The Canny Brothers Band.

St. Patrick Catholic Academy matching donations were made possible by Approved Oil, Inc.

St. Anselm Catholic Academy matching donations were made possible by Mary Clavin in honor of her children Joseph Clavin ‘99, Matthew Clavin ‘00, Stephen Clavin ‘04 and Amy Clavin ‘09.

Together with our fundraising efforts and our generous matching funds, this year we are able to award $10,000 to ten deserving young men and women.  We’re looking forward to next years graduations already!
